The idea to shoot a “wedding at the Wish Vintage Rentals warehouse” had been
brewing for some time between Tiffani Jones of Tiffani Jones Photography and me,
but until Kristin from Kate Ryan Linens shared a set of her newest plates, full design
inspiration just hadn’t quite struck. Her “new” plates are actually a gorgeous set of
vintage stoneware with the prettiest color palette that was perfect for Thanksgiving
inspiration!
Tiffani, Kristin and I met with Laura Helm of Ashton Events, and brainstormed an idea
to start our “wedding” as a Thanksgiving dinner party: a time of gratitude, a time
when we reflect and are grateful for our family and friends, those people who love
and support us the most. With this in mind, we thought, what better time for a
surprise wedding than right after Thanksgiving dinner? Everyone has already
gathered together and is happy and content after a delicious meal. When the plates
and chargers are cleared, they will discover the surprise announcement, beautifully
designed by Citrus Press Co., that the wedding celebration will take place that very
night!
We wanted to take the eclectic rustic look of the warehouse to the next level with a
touch of 70s luxe. We paired gold Chiavari Chairs and matching gold Peacock
Chairs with sheepskin seats at the reclaimed wood farm table and used a vintage
Persian rug as a backdrop to our fireplace mantel, styled with vintage brass pieces
and family photographs. Our lounge was created using a mix of colors, textures
vintage velvet seating and a gold coffee table, grounded by a pallet wood backdrop.
The gorgeous florals, colorful vintage glassware and elegant custom linens on the
dining tables and cocktail tables contrasted perfectly with the raw warehouse space
and rustic bar setup.
J’aime Cakes brought several delicious homemade goodies to the party, including a
traditional Apple and Pumpkin Pies with gorgeous leaf crusts, watercolor Fall Leaf
Sugar Cookies, and a delectable Apple Spiced Bundt Cake, complete with dripping
salted caramel. We had fun styling these tasty treats on a table layered with
authentic 70s plaid fabric under a rustic luxe collage backdrop.
Our “bride and groom” were an amazing real-life couple and Megan Bubalo, owner
of Malindy Elene Bridal, simply styled our bride to perfection! She created this
custom bridal look by pairing a Martina Liana skirt with a stunning Ti Adora top that
had us all catching our breath!
We also have to take a moment to appreciate the amazing magic that Amanda
Seabury created with the bridal hair and makeup. Don’t you just love the way she
wove that rad Amanda Judge hair accessory into our bride’s beautiful braid?
Most of all we are thankful to our amazing friendor family! We had such a great
time collaborating together to build this beautiful story of warmth, family and love!
Thank You and Happy Thanksgiving!
